The Samanwaya Alberta Unit successfully completed a door-to-door winter jacket collection drive, gathering hundreds of jackets to support vulnerable individuals during the harsh winter season. After identifying deserving recipients, the collected jackets were handed over to the Lions Club for distribution—bringing warmth, dignity, and comfort to community members in need.
On November 7, a formal handover ceremony was held at the Millwoods Library Hall in the presence of Edmonton–Millwoods MLA Christina Gray, Lions Club District Vice Governor Dr. Thomas Varghese, and Loka Kerala Sabha Member Shajesh Purushotaman. The donation was officially presented to the Edmonton Malayali Lions Club by Samanwaya Alberta Unit Secretary Soverin John and Unit President Sumith Sukumaran.
MLA Christina Gray praised Samanwaya’s continued dedication to community welfare and expressed her full support for future humanitarian initiatives.
